Hate, Then and Now
Consider the position of the American Indians at the present day. They live side by side with a people which always wishes to increase in numbers, to strengthen its power. They see thousands of ships passing up and down their waterways. They know that the strength of their masters is irresistable. They have no hope whatever of seeing their native land one day delivered from their conqueror; their whole continent is henceforth, as they all know, the inheritance of the European. A glance is enough to convince them of the tenacity of those foreign institutions under which human life ceases to depend, for its continuance, on the abundance of game or fish. From their purchases of brandy, guns, and blankets, they know that even their own coarse tastes would be more easily satisfied in the midst of such a society, which is always inviting them to come in, and which seeks, by bribes and flattery, to obtain their consent. It is always refused. They prefer to flee from one lonely spot to another; the bury themselves more and more in the heart of the country, abandoning all, even the bones of their fathers. They will die out, as they know well; but they are kept, by a mysterious feeling of horror, under the yoke of their unconquerable repulsion from the white race, and although they admire its strength and general superiority, their conscience and their whole nature, in a word, their blood, revolts from the mere thought of having anything in common with it.

ENVY(As quoted by Landser at OD.)
The concept of envy — the hatred of the superior — has dropped out of our moral vocabulary …
The idea that white Christian civilization is hated more for its virtues than its sins doesn’t occur to us, because it’s not a nice idea. …
Western man towers over the rest of the world in ways so large as to be almost inexpressible.
It’s Western exploration, science, and conquest that have revealed the world to itself.
Other races feel like subjects of Western power long after colonialism, imperialism, and slavery have disappeared.
The charge of racism puzzles whites who feel not hostility, but only baffled good will, because they don’t grasp what it really means: humiliation.
The white man presents an image of superiority even when he isn’t conscious of it. And, superiority excites envy.
Destroying white civilization is the inmost desire of the league of designated victims we call minorities. …

What about a minority group that feels superior but can't rule directly? It sees a powerful group laying down the law to other races but it feels that it should be the one? How does it feel? Act? Does it feel envy too?
As Darwin said, there's always mitigating circumstances. In Canada NA Indians are the fastest growing demographic group.
Tan,
Thanks for reposting the Sobran 'ENVY' quote from the OD thread.
Its always so apt and apropos.

In Vdare goes beyond anti-Israelism to anti-Semitism, Auster goes beyond insanity and seethes:
I have many times urged Peter Brimelow in the strongest terms to stop publishing the hateful writings of Roberts. He has of course ignored my requests and those of others who have also pleaded with him to drop Roberts. Now he has gone so far as publish an article by Roberts which equates Jews with Nazis for defending themselves against people who seek their destruction.
The only way Roberts "equates Jews with Nazis" is by using the word Kristallnacht in the title of his article, For Palestinians, Every Day Is Kristallnacht.
Apparently only jews are permitted to use certain words. Or did Auster lose his mind over this too: Rabbi Compares West Bank Mosque Attack to Kristallnacht - The Lede Blog - NYTimes.com?
Even if Roberts said, "israelis are nazis", so what? Auster equates somebody with nazis on a regular basis, and for less than what Roberts accuses the israelis of. If that comparison means someone is deliberately invoking hatred, as Auster implies Roberts is doing, then we see Auster is a repeat offender.
Hey Commisar Auster, stop trying to dictate what Americans can think and write and move to your beloved bolshevist paradise already.
Larry Auster - "Now he has gone so far as publish an article by Roberts which equates Jews with Nazis for defending themselves against people who seek their destruction."
Hey Larry, the Nazis used the same language as you have used there. The Nazis claimed that the Jews wished the destruction of the German people, so any use of force against them was justified.
So Roberts is technically right.
So I come here to get away from Auster and find that you spend a lot of time talking about him. Can't you at least move on to some other jew, for variety's sake? Well, it's still a good blog.
"So I come here to get away from Auster and find that you spend a lot of time talking about him. "
Auster is important for two reasons.
1. He is a self-professed Christian. This separates him from his ethnic group in a major way.
2. He is the closest to our positions on other topics. A lot of his arguments and topics (including his law) are good.
Because of 1 and 2, Auster is a poster boy for why we can never include Jews in a true pro-White movement. If even he obfuscates Jewish roles in the current decline of the West, there is no chance that any of his other tribe will ever be of any use to us nor can we have any hope that they will stop their attacks and hostility towards Whites.
Tanstaafl is doing good work in this area and Auster is the prime example to use. Other Jews are brought up quite often but they are not as interesting as Auster. The rest are obvious haters of Whites and our civilization and are easily spotted.
Thank you, Millirone, for that useful explanation. Of course my post was sort of tongue-in-cheek, since I had occasionally contributed to Auster's site at one time and just got sick of suspending my disbelief. I also got sick of his peanut gallery, not only the jews but the non-jews such as Kristor who have too high an opinion of their own intellect.
The worst part of people like Auster is in fact the self-conscious intellectualism of their discussions. Frankly I don't care about the gnostic roots of liberalism if it doesn´t advance the cause to the people that need to hear about it. Epic Beard Man has already done more for that in five minutes than Auster ever did with his whole output.
Which is why I'm puzzled by the undue attention. After all, who really listens to him that matters? Does success or failure of the West really hinge on what Ian Jobling or other philo-semites do next? They're already left behind.
Nevertheless it is fun to pick on Larry Auster, not only for the reasons given by Millirone but in the schoolyard sense of the kid that is just too good a target to leave alone.
Like I said, this is a good blog and Tanstaafl, why don't you just change your name to Schutzstaffel and make Larry happy?
Frankly I don't care about the gnostic roots of liberalism if it doesn´t advance the cause to the people that need to hear about it.
For the last couple of months, it seems like gnostic has been Auster's favorite word. For some reason he wants to shoehorn everything into his gnosticism framework. I can't figure out what his whole gnostic obsession is about.
I also got sick of his peanut gallery, not only the jews but the non-jews such as Kristor who have too high an opinion of their own intellect.
The worst part of people like Auster is in fact the self-conscious intellectualism of their discussions.
The self-conscious intellectualism and self-congratulatory tone of Auster and his peanut gallery is definitely very annoying. Whether Auster and his followers are pontificating about what they believe to be their incisive theories or the sycophants are praising their master for his brilliance, there is a certain pomposity and arrogance about them.
And Auster's whole fixation with liberalism is off base. The doctrine of non-discrimination is the problem, not liberalism.
John Stuart Mill: "Free institutions are next to impossible in a country made up of different nationalities. Among a people without fellow-feeling, especially if they read and speak different languages, the united public opinion, necessary to the working of representative government, cannot exist. The influences which form opinions and decide political acts are different in the different sections of the country. An altogether different set of leaders have the confidence of one part of the country and of another. The same books, newspapers, pamphlets, speeches, do not reach them. One section does not know what opinions, or what instigations, are circulating in another. The same incidents, the same acts, the same system of government, affect them in different ways; and each fears more injury to itself from the other nationalities than from the common arbiter, the state."
"I can't figure out what his whole gnostic obsession is about."
Gnostics believe that they have found the "hidden truth." Once they have found said truth, they can now master the universe with this new knowledge they have learned and become higher than God himself.
What Auster is doing is saying that people today latch on to a idea and then believe that everything can be solved through that idea.
Auster has a point but he should look at his own group first. They are the masters at believing they have found the hidden truth and that this has made them the "chosen ones" above all humanity. The Talmud of course being the greatest gnostic writings ever written.
"And Auster's whole fixation with liberalism is off base. "
Auster has what he calls classic liberalism and modern liberalism.
Classic liberalism is what our founders were. Modern liberalism is what he calls the idea of non-discrimination. What he leaves out is that modern liberalism is nothing more than cultural marxism that was pushed by his tribe with the constant drumbeat of White guilt tactics.
He leaves that out and instead says we are "suiciding" ourselves. If we would just "re-assert" ourselves, than the problem would work itself out. Of course, re-asserting ourselves would have to be under the microscope of his tribe and they would have to be included and consulted with in the entire "re-assertion" process.
